COLUMBUS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
CARNEGIE HALL - NYC

The Columbus Symphony Orchestra celebrated its 50th anniversary by performing at Carnegie Hall and hired EventCo to plan the celebration at the Essex House on Central Park. We turned a traditional, Baroque-style ballroom into an intimate nightclub with sofas, chairs and whimsical touches galore – to the amazement of 600 awed guests. Themed around seven vibrant colors, you could literally step from a bright red space into a chromium yellow space. No wonder Columbus Monthly named it “Party of the Year!

The previous four year’s galas, also produced by EventCo, led up to the magnificent 50th anniversary milestone, and were highlighted with performances by Jose` Carreras, Lucianno Pavarotti, Charlotte Church and Russell Watson. To celebrate the Pavarotti gala, EventCo created a “fantasy” Italian village complete with tiered umbrella table seating to forty-foot projections of old Felinni movies and Italian language lessons on the huge draped walls. Guests could explore, mingle, nibble and have fun!
